Beetle Wing Doors

Our unique horizontally opening "Beetle Wing" doors provide protection on landing and offer minimal obstruction to sensor viewing. Custom units are available with conformal doors that are integrated into the fuselage contours. Doors can be servo operated and are also connected to the retracting mechanism (single servo lowers and raises equipment as well as opening and closing the doors). Additionally custom units may employ our jam proof AeroPneumatic actuators. In situations where the unit also functions as a landing skid, field replaceable doors can be provided. Our "Beetle Wing" door design has been built in sizes ranging from 1.5 inch diameter to 17 inches in diameter and is easily scalable to your needs.
